To create one must be able to respond. Creativity is the ability to respond to all that goes on around us, to choose from the hundreds of possibilities of thought, feeling, action and reaction and to put these together in a unique response, expression or message that carries moment, passion and meaning. In this sense, loss of our creative milieu means finding ourselves limited of only one choice, divested of, suppressing, or censoring feelings and thoughts, not acting, not saying, doing or being. Taken from Women Who Run With the Wolves, Clarissa Pinkola Estes.
I have finally found my template for my blog. Goodness it has been a tad tricky. I often find myself in overwhelm re the incredible templates and packages available to create, promote and share one's journey whether as an individual or running a business. I love what we can do now - however I do find around my own creativity there can be an aliveness of energy, passion and motivation and then I can pull back and become ploppy and stop. Then knowing myself and acknowledging my varied and at times conflicting parts of 'me' I get myself sorted and allow the movement to take the next new steps. I often laugh about me - I remember years ago there was a saying often spoken to women 'just take a Bex and have a lie down', well I dont need the Bex however there are times I do need that lie down and have come to realise in my life that one of my specialities are nana naps when needed!! Just love them!! It helps me to acknowledge my own deep fear that becomes prevalent as I journey along my life.
So lets look at creativity. I am passionate about creativity, my own as well as my role to empower and loosen the blocks or challenges that stop my many clients from stepping into their own creativity, their 'juicy-ness', their knowing, their being!
I often will say - Stop Being Perfect! Allow your creativity to unleash, let go, breathe, risk, get it wrong! Plus stop being other people's perfect! Oh this can absolutely STOP/CEASE one's creativity! You have this brilliant idea, you tell someone and without you realising they have become a 'dream taker' and what happens then - you give up, you stop, you listen to the other person and take no movement or steps forward. Creativity requires energy - so another aspect is to look at your vitality. Plus we need to look at the excuses we make, our 'away froms' especially what we tell ourselves. We need to begin no matter what and we also need to protect our time and/or create time. And one must stay with it. As Clarissa Pinkola Estes says - "But there is no Creativity Patrol or Soul Police to intervene if we insist on starving our own souls. There is just us. We are the only ones to watch over the soul-Self and the heroic animus."
